Yeshe Palmo set aside her career as a teacher in 1986 to dedicate herself fully to Buddhist study and practice in the UK. In her twenties she completed four years in strict retreat—an experience that continues to shape her life, teaching, and commitment to a contemplative way of living.
From 1993–2000 she served as resident monastic at Thrangu House, and she later organized pilgrimages for Thrangu Rinpoche in Nepal and India. Her UK-based projects include the Prayer Wheel project for the National Museum of Scotland and the Access Project for Holy Isle. She has also contributed to the Awakened Heart Sangha (with an emphasis on body-centered practice) and to Tergar, helping develop the Awareness Yoga curriculum.
Yeshe has created and taught courses on Yogic Approaches to Meditation, integrating environment, breath, movement, and visualization with traditional contemplative methods. Her principal teacher has been Thrangu Rinpoche, and she has been influenced by Khenpo Tsultrim, Ringu Tulku, Mingyur Rinpoche, and Tsoknyi Rinpoche. Trained as a counsellor (1995) and later as a supervisor, she continues exploring the meeting point of trauma, movement, neurobiology, and meditation, and is authorized to offer Betsy Polatin’s Humanual work.
