A Network
of Retreats
In order to support people doing meditation retreats around the world we aim to eventually support a wide network of retreat places. Though we currently have our hands full in Podentes we have already welcomed a second retreat center into our network. Karuna Retreat Center in Monchique, in the south of Portugal, will start to host Tergar programs over the coming years, beginning with retreats in May 2024 and September-October 2024.
Tergar Podentes Retreat Center
Tergar Podentes Retreat Center is the 32-hectare property we purchased last year. It will be the home of Tergar Retreats, the site for the 3-year retreats and also host to “open” retreats with many of the participants camping but some indoor accommodations as well. Our first public programs at Tergar Podentes will be in 2025.
Karuna Retreat Center Monchique
Karuna Retreat Center is a long-established retreat center in Monchique, a mountainous spot in the south of Portugal overlooking the coast and the Atlantic Ocean. Karuna joined the Tergar Retreats network last year and will host our programs in May and September-October 2024.
